Mixed Feelings
I’m huge Apple and Google fanboy, but there are certain things about both companies that I dislike, both as consumer and developer, so I came up with a list of things I would change today if I had the power to so:
Google:
1.- Quit Android, Google is going the wrong direction (like Microsoft) with this.
2.- Open up Google Voice world-wide and give free voice and video chat to other Google Voice users just like Skype.
3.- Develop Google Maps Navigation and Google Goggles for the iPhone.
4.- Get into data providing service (like 3G) and do it world-wide, then work with Apple so that they support it and integrate Google Voice.
Apple:
1.- Sell the iPhone in the Apple Store contract and carrier free, Google is going to sell the Nexus One unlocked for 530 dlls, I’m pretty sure Apple can do the same…
2.- Allow developers to distribuite apps outside the AppStore, not doing so makes Apple look like the classic middle man a.k.a. “The Gatekeeper”.
That’s all I can think of right now, let’s see what happens in the following days and months.
UPDATE: Today (September 24 2011) I only agree with the first point on Google.
